CALL TO WORSHIP

O: Creator God, you started with a void and made this wonderful world.
A: By your mighty word, the heavens and earth were divided.
O: Creator, you began by separating day and night, by differentiating
earth and sky, land and water.
A: By your mighty breath, Lord, you breathed life into plants and animals
and us, your children.

O: Creator God, you and you alone made all things to sustain us.
A: We stand in awe of the beauty that surrounds us and give thanks to
you, O Lord for our bounty. Amen.

PRAYER OF APPROACH:

Creator of Life, we see the sun rise and stand in awe of a new day. Another day to
draw closer to you, to your son Jesus Christ and to the Holy Spirit.
Bless us with your presence, guide us through this day and all the days
to come. Share with us your wisdom and let us never fail to be amazed
by the wonderful work of your hands. We will be your willing disciples so
that everyone will come to know how majestic is your name. Leave us with
your amazing love and grace. Amen.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION:

Lord, you created all that we have. You created us to have dominion
over all the creatures of the sea, land and air and over the fields and
streams. Forgive us, Lord, for in our arrogance we have caused a lot
of damage. We have polluted our waters, we have cleared your beautiful
forests and we have lost many of your wild creatures. Help us to live in
harmony with nature; to benefit from it without ruining it. Help us to be
your protectors rather than destroyers. In Christ we pray. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON:

Our Lord God, creator of new life and new beginnings is merciful and
always forgiving. Through faith in the Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit you will be redeemed and know salvation. Seize this
moment of forgiveness and love and begin living your life in the spirit
of Jesus Christ. Amen.
